Argus is not a GPS tracker, on purpose: no battery for your dog to chew, nothing to charge, no monthly bill. The person standing next to your pet calls you.

Named after a real dog. Argus never made it home. Every tag carries his name so yours makes it home.
Our story

One open garage door.

Argus wasn't just a dog, he was family. One day the garage door was left open and he slipped out. His family put up posters on every corner and knocked on every door, but no one who saw him knew who to call.

They couldn't undo that day. What they could do was make sure it happens to fewer families. That's why Argus exists: a tag that lets anyone with a phone become the person who brings a pet home.

We're based in Hollywood, Los Angeles, and every tag is built to do one job well: work the one time it really has to.

The hard truth · Case study: Los Angeles

Right now in Los Angeles, a dog is waiting for a family that doesn't know where to look.

A microchip only helps once someone drives your pet to a scanner. Argus works on the sidewalk, from the finder's own phone, before your pet ever reaches a kennel.

Your dog doesn't know what a shelter is.

FAQ

What is Argus?

Argus makes smart pet ID tags. Each tag has a QR code, an NFC chip and a unique link that open your pet's online profile on any phone, with no app. Whoever finds your pet can call, text or email you in one tap. You pay once for the tag; there is no monthly fee. Argus is based in Los Angeles and ships within the U.S.

What is Triple Safety?

Every Argus tag has three independent ways to open your pet's profile: a QR code any phone camera can scan, an NFC chip a phone can tap, and a unique URL printed on the tag that anyone can type. If the QR gets scratched, or a phone has no NFC, there is always another way in. So there is always a backup way to reach you.

How does an Argus tag work?

Each tag has Triple Safety: a QR code, an NFC chip and a unique URL, all linked to your pet's online profile. Anyone who finds your pet can scan, tap or type it to see your contact buttons and the info you choose to share.

Do I pay a monthly fee?

No. You pay once for the tags. There's no subscription, no app and no battery, ever.

Can it track my pet's GPS location?

Argus isn't a live tracker. When someone scans the tag, they're asked to share their location, and if they allow it you get it right away by email with a map link.

Who can see my phone number and address?

You decide. You can hide your personal info and unlock it only when your pet is reported found. You'll be alerted the moment the tag is scanned.

Can I add more than one pet or more than one contact?

Yes. Add as many pets as you want to one account, and list as many contacts as you like: family, partner, roommate, dog walker.

Does it work with every phone?

Yes. Any iPhone or Android with a camera can scan the QR code, and most can tap the NFC chip. It works anywhere in the world.

What if the person who finds my pet doesn't share their location?

They can still call, text or email you with one tap from the profile, and you still get an alert that the tag was scanned. Sharing location is just the fastest extra.

Do Argus tags work for cats?

Yes. The Petite tag is our smallest and lightest, and the Hexagonal Silent is soft and quiet. Both work on breakaway cat collars.

Which tag is best for a small dog?

Petite (27 × 29 mm) is our smallest and lightest tag, made for toy breeds and puppies as well as cats. Silicone Silent (round or hexagon) is soft, quiet and light. Collar-Side Small fits collar straps up to 7/8 in (22 mm) wide and lies flat, so nothing dangles.

Which Collar-Side size do I need?

Small fits collar straps up to 7/8 in (22 mm) wide. Medium/Large fits straps up to 1 1/4 in (31 mm). Measure the width of the collar strap, not your pet's neck.

Can I mix designs and sizes?

Yes. The price depends on how many tags are in your order, not which ones: 1 tag is $24.95, 2–3 tags are $17.48 each, and 4 or more are $14.99 each with free shipping. Mix styles, colors and Collar-Side sizes however you like.

Do you work with shelters, cities or rescues?

Yes. We offer volume pricing, custom printing with your agency name or license number, and free sample kits for qualifying agencies. See Argus for Communities.

Are the tags water-resistant?

Yes. They're water-resistant, scratch-resistant and lightweight, made to live on a collar through rain, mud and bath time.

How do I activate my tags?

Every package includes a card with instructions. Scan the tag or go to findargus.com, create your account and add your pet's profile.

Where do you ship and how long does it take?

We ship to U.S. addresses only. Orders are processed in 1–2 business days and usually arrive in 3–7 business days. You'll get a tracking number by email.

What's your return policy?

Return unopened, non-activated tags within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Once a tag is activated it's linked to your pet's profile, so it can't be returned, but the lifetime warranty still covers it.

What if my tag gets damaged?

Tags bought from us have a lifetime warranty against damage like cracks or broken clips: we replace them free, you just cover shipping. Lost tags can be replaced at a reduced price.
